For a 24,000 mm³ block and a density of 2.70 g/cm³, the calculated mass is 64.8 g. Divide the volume by 1,000 to convert mm³ to cm³ before multiplying by density. This arithmetic example does not certify the material of your own model.
Do not assume a density from appearance. Mixed-material assemblies need component-level inputs and instance counts. Imported mass metadata should be shown separately from a newly computed value.
An open shell or incomplete assembly cannot be quietly treated as a fully resolved solid. Show an unavailable status and the reason. Batch reports should retain failed rows rather than replacing them with zeros.
Generated STEP block: 20 × 30 × 40 mm, surface area 5,200 mm² and volume 24,000 mm³. At density 2.7 g/cm³ the calculated mass is 64.8 g. These values describe the synthetic block, not the default bearing sample.
Repository-generated samples are synthetic test models. Verify your own model's units and geometry before using results.
