Who we are
CADProps is an independent engineering software project started in Singapore in 2025. We make browser-based tools for opening CAD files, inspecting geometry and reading the numbers behind a model.
Our team. The CADProps team brings together computational geometry, digital manufacturing and engineering automation based on 3D models, with hands-on experience in industrial automation and smart manufacturing: CAD/CAM, CNC machining, 3D geometry processing and automated quoting systems.
Why we built CADProps
Working with mechanical engineers, buyers and CNC shops, we kept seeing the same gap: a CAD file holds the information people need, but reading it usually means installing large, expensive desktop software. A buyer who only wants to confirm a part's size, or an estimator who needs its volume, weight and surface area, should not need a full CAD seat.
The question behind CADProps is simple: why can't a CAD file open in the browser as easily as a PDF? The first prototype in 2025 opened a STEP file and reported its bounding box, volume and surface area. CADProps now also measures distances, edges, angles and holes, calculates mass from a density you choose, cuts sections, compares revisions, exports batch properties and converts between common formats. Clear results, honest limits
A useful result needs context. We distinguish properties calculated from CAD geometry from approximate mesh measurements, show units alongside values and explain when a result is unavailable. Mass depends on the density you confirm, and comparisons preserve the models' original coordinates.

A temporary workspace
Uploaded files are processed on our server over HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or 1.3). Guest files are automatically deleted about one hour after upload, together with their previews and results. Signed-in uploads are saved to your private My files space (200 MB, up to 100 files), available across devices, and automatically deleted after 90 days without use. You can delete files earlier; deleting a saved file also disables its share links. We keep uploaded CAD files and model data confidential. Original CAD files are not sent to external processing services; others can view a model only through a share link you create. Coverage and testing
We test what our guides say on public files: the sample files, the reproducible cases linked from how our calculations work and our free CAD parts library on GitHub. The editorial policy explains how guides are written, sourced and corrected. Articles and curated lists that mention CADProps, including the Awesome CNC list, are collected on the press page.
Help us make it better
We are continuing to improve CADProps around real file workflows. If something is unclear, a model does not display as expected or an interaction gets in your way, we would like to hear about it.

Custom projects
Email support@cadprops.com for custom development, a product partnership or a conversation about backing CADProps. Include who you are, what you need and any constraints such as formats, hosting or timeline.
Custom development. We can add CAD viewing, measurement, conversion, comparison, batch properties or shareable review to an existing workflow. Typical work includes quoting, incoming inspection, supplier review, embedding the current service or running it privately. CADProps does not author CAD models and is not a BIM tool.
Partnerships. We look for collaborations that help people inspect CAD files without installing desktop CAD software. If you distribute manufacturing software, run a related product or reach people who need CAD inspection, describe how the products would fit together.
Investment. CADProps is independent, based in Singapore and already live. Conversations are welcome from people who invest in CAD infrastructure, manufacturing software or Singapore-based technical products. A short note on why CADProps is a fit is enough to start.
