A CADProps share link is for reviewing one finished 3D model in the browser. It is a fixed viewing snapshot, not a delivery of the original CAD file. The owner must sign in to create the link; the recipient does not need an account to open it.
Check the model before sharing
Open a supported 3D file and wait until processing succeeds. Confirm the expected parts, orientation and units in the workspace. If an assembly is incomplete or a mesh result is approximate, tell the recipient what the displayed model actually represents. Two-dimensional drawings, multi-model workspaces and comparison results are not shareable as one link in this release.
Select Share. If you are not signed in, complete the login dialog first. CADProps saves an eligible guest source into your account before creating its share; the file and its snapshot must fit the account's limits. If the source cannot be saved, resolve the error rather than assuming a link was created.
Choose the link settings
Choose 7 days for a short review or 30 days when the recipient needs more time. The countdown starts when the snapshot is created, and the viewing page shows its expiry. You may add a password of 8–128 characters. Send the password through a separate channel; it is not embedded in the link and cannot be recovered later.
Select Create share and copy the resulting link. Up to 10 active links are allowed per account, subject to the 200 MB storage limit. An optional public preview can expose a title and cover image without the model password, so leave it off for private work. See how previews and access work before enabling it.
Test what your recipient will see
Open the link in a separate browser session. Confirm that the correct model loads, the optional password is required, and the expiry is suitable. A recipient can rotate, section, inspect properties and measure using the supported viewer tools. The original CAD file is not offered for download. Loaded display geometry and screenshots can still be captured, so share only with people you trust with that view.
Uploading a newer model does not update an existing snapshot. If a new revision replaces the old one, create a new link and identify the revision in your message. For a supplier who needs STEP or native engineering source, deliver that file through an agreed transfer method alongside the viewing link. The supplier handoff checklist covers that distinction.
Keep control after sending
Open My shares in My files to review or stop active links from another device. You can also manage links in the workspace. Stopping a share blocks later access through CADProps; deleting the saved source file also revokes its links. Neither action removes screenshots or files someone already kept.
