SAT is the text representation of ACIS model data. CADProps accepts readable text SAT for browser inspection and STEP output. Binary SAB is a different encoding and is not enabled. Do not rename SAB, IGES or STEP to .sat.
Open a SAT file
The ACIS SAT viewer loads the original file, shows the converted geometry and reports dimensions for readable solids. Confirm the solid count and one known size before you use area, volume or a download. Open a SAT file online lists the checks.
A known block kept its dimensions, volume and solid count through SAT-to-STEP conversion and an independent read-back. Empty or unreadable geometry is rejected. That test does not cover every ACIS version.
STEP output and neighbouring formats
Choose STEP from the viewer when the next system cannot read SAT. The STEP file is a derivative: no ACIS feature history, and it should name the SAT revision it came from. SAT vs STEP and SAT vs IGES compare the alternatives.
Volume requires a valid closed solid. Mass requires your confirmed density. Surface area can exist for faces that do not enclose a solid.
Limits
SAB, and any file that only wears a .sat name, stays out of this workflow. External references are not fetched. See the format matrix and the ACIS measurement limits before you treat a shaded view as a manufacturing check.
